Cheers lads for your help. I called my Breakdown cover first because that was the only way I thought I would get my mercedes sorted. I was quoted £210 off the RAC and they said they would be up to 2 hours. While waiting at the pumps the lad out the Forecourt gave me your number so I called you and you where going to take 30/40 mins to get to me and where a lot cheaper so told you guys to come out. Thanks for the great service , i wont be putting the wrong fuel in my car again i hope!!

Hi just to say thanks for speakin to me last night. I used another company called Fuel Doctor about 2 weeks ago who charged me a lot more than what you charge to do my car, when i put £40 petrol in my volvo diesel car. This company broke my car causing the fuel tank to leak due to a seal they removed which i now belive should not have been removed in the first place. Everytime i filled my car up it leaked but did not realise till 3 days later when i jumped in my car and 1/4 of a tank had gone and it was all down my drive. I didnt even use my car after i had put the wrong fuel in. I drove straight home from the fuel station. When i called them back they said it wasnt down to them and said it was the age of my Volvo. My car is a 59 plate. I called Volvo and they backed me up. These seals dont just go unless they are tampered with. I even watched the guy do the job and he did take something off under my seat, a seal or something. The reason i am contacting you is that i would like everyone to know how i was dealt with by Fuel Doctor and i will contact all Fuel Drain companies and petrol stations and inform them of this incident aswell. Can i first start off by saying my Breakdown cover could not attend to me until the 3rd of January and i was stuck on New Years Eve but i will be dealing with them in later time.(SORE SUBJECT) Awesome service from Forecourt Assist and Sainsburys, Sainsburys were very good with me, made me a coffee and helped me push my car off the fuel pump in a safe place. Reading through your customers reviews and totally agree. My AA recovery service towed me home and said the guy who deals in fuel drains doesnt work till 3rd Jan. AA even told me there were no other companies that dealt in this. I checked on the internet and several companies popped up. I rang 2 of them and they told me that the only people who would do Newcastle area were yourselves. I called you and the young lad came out and only took him 35 mins. He got my car running again in 30 mins. I will never trust my recovery service again. I called my recovery service back and complained, they said they had no recall of this service being out there. I have my own thoughts on this. 5 STAR SERVICE.THANKS.

Wish I had known about your service a couple of years ago, when a similar mistake cost me over £200 and I had to get the car to a garage in normal business hours. From initial phone call to problem completely sorted and fresh diesel in car took under an hour. Great service, would highly recommend.

I initially called the Fuel Doctor, as nice as the chap was he couldn’t remove the fuel security catch despite spending nearly 2 hours!! I called Ian at Forecourt Assist and he had it off in less than 10 seconds using the same tool. I was back on the road within 45 minutes! Stay away from Fuel Doctor. I highly recommend Forecourt Assist!

Yes it can happen to anybody,i am a Taxi driver and have not made this mistake in 20 years and 800,000 miles but i did.

Petrol in diesel car, got your number from the garage. Arrived within the hour even though traffic horrendous christmas shoppers. Very friendly and reassuring engineer, work completed 20 minutes and on our way home, no problems.

put 14 litres of petrol into a brand new hilux diesel with only 700 miles on the clock, rang the AA (via toyota assist) they would drain tank for £250 + vat) morrisons forecourt staff gave me forecourt assists number, not only was he out within the hour but I was back on the road within the hour plus we had 3″ snow on the ground and I saved £100.00 Still an expensive mistake but would have been worse with out forecourt assists help. Number now saved in my phone (hope I dont need it. very helpful and friendly staff

Im from Canada and over there I have a petrol car. I hired this car off Enterprise Manchester and drove to Durham. I went to the gas station in the hire car and put petrol in instead of diesel. Quick efficient frendly and safety concious. Even put in a gallon of fuel to get me going again.

It was early morning and I was not thinking straight so stupidly put in the wrong fuel. Fortunately the attendant gave me the number for Forecourt Assist and things looked up from there. The technician had a 25mile drive to reach me but was friendly and understanding and had me back on the road in about 20 minutes without any problem. First rate service at a very reasonable price.

This is an absolute fantastic mobile service that leased car companies, such as the one my company uses should basically advocate in their company car policy. Having the unfortunate experience of filling up with the wrong fuel once before and as a result having my car taken off me and forking out the costs for what was more or less a new engine to get it back – the option of using Forecourt Assist made ‘everything’ so much more easier and hassle free. Why insurance companies don’t offer something like this is obviously above the reason of what makes excellent roadside service, as I currently know of no other service that is professional, immediate and cost-effective!! Thank you very much for your help, I will recommend you to everyone I know.

First thing i did was call the AA out. I didnt know what else to do. They got to me within 20 mins and i was well impressed until the patrol guy called the AA fuel guy. The AA fuel guy was not working on Sunday so i was stuck. The patrol guy had a go himself. He took some pipes off from under my rear seat, but when he did take the pipes off loads of fuel came flying out and covered my car interior. He just looked at me and said sorry. I went into the fuel station store and he gave me a leaflet for yourselves. Your guy was out in 40 mins and did my car in 30 mins. Wish i just called you first. I got my car back yesterday from a very good vallet but i can still smell petrol diesel inside my car. I would complain but the AA patrol guy was just trying to help me out. I have now realised he should not have actually had a go of it and may possibly complain. LESSON TO ALL: get these experts out. Carnt fault Forecourt Assist. Put petrol in the wife’s diesel car, our breakdown service could only offer a call the following day. Within 45 minutes of calling Forecourt assist the fuel raining guy arrived and sorted me out in no time at all. Excellent service and now I’m off the hook. Thanks

My mistake understandable but called several people, insurance which would not touch me, said it was my mistake ( NEVER ) and AA which told me they would get someone to call me, Ron Perrys recovery then called me 20 mins later said they would recover me home or take me to there garage we’re they would charge me over £200 to drain my car. P##s off to both of them options. Called you guys and you came out in 30 mins at 3 am in the morning and got me sorted in 30 mins. Your 1 hr service is great. Hi guys, called RAC as I was a member and they told me they would not be able to do my car as it was a Jag. XF. ?????????? Thought they were a big breakdown company. Many, many thanks for rescuing my wife and me last evening.
As I belong AA Assist my first action was to ring them.It was 6.15pm and we were told that the specialist team that deals with ‘wrong fuel’ incidents had finished for the day and we were now booked in for the following day after 11 am !! We were stranded 30 miles from home.After I complained, their solution was to send a regular 24hr assist van who was to recover our car to a local approved garage to do the necessary.
After agreeing to this the AA assist turned up an hour later, only to inform me that he could not recover my car as it was too big but in any case there would not be any garages open who could help !!
The next part of the story is much shorter – I called your company, your van turned up about an hour later and in a further 20 mins. we were on our way. Your man was most pleasant and even offered that my wife could sit in his warm cab whilst the job was done.

Made the stupid mistake of putting petrol in my diesel car this morning. Called Forecourt Assist, they price matched the reduced cost offered by a well known Motoring Association, without having to have my car recovered to my home or another garage. Forecourt Assist turned up within 45 minutes,reassuring, friendly, helpful and polite Technician. Had me on my way again in around 35 minutes. I would gladly recommend this company to anyone.

I drove my Mazda and had a mad thought in my head. Pulled over and checked my fuel receipt and it said 40 Ltrs petrol instead of diesel. I felt sick. Checked on my phone and called several companies but they all put me in touch with Forecourt Assist. Lad got out to me in a good time and he was full of stories about how many people he sees a day. What can I say? After I kicked my own ass with a size 8 I was stuck until I Googled Forecourt Assist. Quick initial response to a telephone request and the engineer was waiting at my car right on the agreed time. Great piece of kit to complete the job and the whole process was quick, efficient and, other than payment,painless. This is one experience I hope not to repeat but if it happens to anyone I know I would not hestitate to recommend this firm.

what a divvy i felt after filling up with the wrong fuel on sunday morning. i called forecourt assist and gary was with me within 45 minutes. less than 20 mins later we were on our way to nottingham to finish our shopping. no hassle, no messing, no problem. would definately recommend these guys to anyone who fills up with the wrong fuel.

oh god, what a prat. putting petrol into my diesel car was not a good idea. it was an even worse idea to drive it away from the garage. i had no idea why my car stopped running 10 minutes later. i called my breakdown company, who shall remain nameless but drive yellow vans. they arrived and diagnosed that i had put the wrong fuel in. i was mortified, how could i be so stupid. they then told me that they could not sort it out and i would have to be taken to the dealership for them to repair it. i googled “put the wrong fuel in my car” whilst sat at the roadside. up came forecourt assist. i called them and they were with me in 25 minutes and i was on the road again in well less than an hour. Amazed, i certainly was. would definitely recommend these guys to anyone who does this. many thanks John and all at forecourt assist. who needs the yellow vans when these guys are around

After the on-line horror stories of what damage could be done to your vehicle with wrong fuel fills, I was absolutely delighted with the experience with Forecourt Assist.
I Stupidly put 10 gallons of unleaded on top of 2 gallons of diesel!
Prompt arrival, friendly but professional and knowledgable. Answering all questions, allayed all worries and fears. Had car going in less than 45mins and also followed me to the garage.
I have no plans to repeat the experience but would have no hesitation whatsoever in calling Forecourt Assist if needed again. Fantastic service.

Put petrol into my wife’s diesel Renault Clio today. Contacted the AA and was told a very silly price.
Contacted Forecourt Assist and was told that an engineer could be with us within the hour.

I drove my vehicle 3 mile from the garage i filled up from so one of your guys worked on my engine while one drained my tank while also dealing with the paperwork to get me away quicker. 100% great service.

Unfortunately I didn’t get the technicians name so can’t thank him personally, but I can highly recommend this service and the guy who came out to help. Punctuality, price and customer service are first class! After a particularly bad week putting the wrong fuel in my car was icing on the cake! The service I received though helped to make a bad situation so much better than it could have been. The assistance arrived well within the hour and despite the car causing a few problems he fixed it much faster than a garage would! At every step I was told exactly what was being done and why … and NOT in a patronising way which is so common for many garages dealing with women. Like thousands of people around the country I filed up with unleaded fuel instead of diesel. Thanks to my trusty iPhone I googled “Wrong fuel in car” and it came up with Forecourt Assist.
After the initial telephone contact I was elated when the van turned up with his flashing yellow lights and within the stated one hour.
Out jumped the guy and set to work on my car. Half an hour later it was up and running again.
What can I say about Dave the technician?
Honest, helpful and a valuable asset to the company.
When things go wrong it’s good to know that there is a company out there that will do the job right and not try to make serious money out of peoples genuine mistakes. I will certainly recommend Forecourt Assist to all of my fellow car users.

thank you Forecourt assist. From me being a complete idiot (petrol into diesel car) to being back on the road again took just over an hour – including waiting time. His van arrived sooner than we were told and he clearly knew exactly what to do with our car. The tank was pumped out in about 15 minutes and we were on our way again. Absolutely brilliant Fuel Drain service. Don’t think twice: USE “FORECOURT ASSIST”. Again , many thanks.

Can i first start off by saying, i called my breakdown cover which i will not name but they have orange vans!. These people who are so called experts at fuel draining.I called my breakdown cover and they sent out a guy called a Fuel Patrol. He said he could not do it as it needed special equipment so they called in a recovery truck to take me home. After waiting 2 hrs for them to get me, they took me home but i was still stuck on getting my car sorted. I called Volvo and they quoted me a staggering £750 + vat. My heart sank but i just happened to have google on my page and i typed in “wrong fuel in my car”. Forecourt Assist came up with several other companies. I must admit i called two other companies first, and both said to call Forecourt Assist. I called them and they said it would cost me 3/4 times less than what Volvo had quoted me. How do these dealerships get away with this? Phill got to me within 30 mins and it took him about 30/40 mins to get my car started. I cannot stress enough to customers of Forecourt Assist how pleased i am with this company with there cost, promises and responce time is unreal. Thanks to all involved and these dealerships and Breakdown cover have not heard the last of this. Thanks.

Excellent service. I called the AA which i am covered through by my bank account and i am in the RAC as my breakdown cover. Can i just say both companies could not drain the fuel from my vehicle, as i heard off both companies they are impossible to do by the roadside and need specialist equipment. I called Forecourt Assist and they got my car going again in 40 mins at the roadside. They also told me that both recovery services were right and you do need specialist equipment and that Forecourt Assist the equipment to deal with these at the roadside. You saved me a lot of money. I filled my car up on Sunday night and when i went to it on Monday morning it would not start. Something just clicked and i new i put wrong fuel in my car, my wife has a petrol vw golf and my vw passat is a diesel. You also responeded in a very quick responce time and my vehicle was done in a very impressive time. The mechanic who came out explained everything to me on what he was doing and even though i know nothing about cars he made it so simple to understand. Very prompt service. I was reassured and the whole fuel draining process was explained to me throughout. Being AA members we thought we would be covered but no and they quoted us nearly double Forecourt Assist and then they could only attend in 5 hours!!!

Drove my car away from the filling station on sunday night after filling it for my trip to Bristol on Monday morning. 5am Monday morning jumped in my car and it would not start. New it was my luck. Looked on my passanger seat and seen the receipt and new what i had done. Looked on internet as my RAC Breakdown cover said they would just tow me to a garage to get it sorted. I found this company and they got to me in 35 mins. He drained the tank and cleaned out my engine and got the vehicle running. He then followed me to the fuel station to make sure i got on my jorney, A big thanks, you saved me from cancelling my important meeting.

I was up all night at a friends wedding party and on Sunday morning was not in the fittest of states so i let my girlfriend drive back to Leeds. She needed to fuel up and she pulled in and filled up while i slept. The next thing i know we were at a stop on the Motorway and she woke me up. Now her car is a petrol and my car is a diesel. oooooppppps. We waited 40 mins for our recovery service and they turned up. He put the car on the back of his vehicle and took me to the nearest services where he basically dumped my vehicle and said bye bye. Because i didnt have the right cover he could only take me so far. I found this company on the internet and a guy came out to me. (BY THE WAY SORRY TO THE GUY WHO CAME OUT BECAUSE HE HEARD MY FULL RANT ABOUT THE SO CALLED BEST RECOVERY SERVICE IN THE UK) thanks for getting me back on my route home. car is running fine now after the fuel was drained

Ive been a member of the AA now for 15 Years and they tried to charge me another £214 because they said i was not covered, I now understand that it was my fault and understand it was a mistake on my behalf but you guys were way way way cheaper than them.I thought i would have getting some sort of discount for being such a long member but it looks like i get sod all off them.Thanks. OOps, can not beleive I did it! AA refused to come out because it had my husbands name on the card. The staff at the supermarket were brilliant and gave me Forecourt Assist number. Steve was out within half an hour (in the pouring rain) to carry out the fuel drain, he exlained exactly what he was going to do and reassured me I was not the only one. He was very proffessional, helpful and quick. He waited until I re-filled and was on my way back home.

Drove my car home from filling up. Tried to restart and guess what – it wouldn`t – well what do you expect with 36l of petrol in the diesel tank!
dave came and sorted, finished at 20 to midnight and it`s all good to go.
Just as well as i have to set off before 7.00 on a 240 mile round trip in the morning.

What a marvelous service – your man (sorry but I did not get his name) said he would be there in 15 mins and he was true to his word. Tank drained in about 10 mins and I was able to get on my way.
Also thanks to the Asda forecourt staff for the sympathy/advice/help to push the car to one side.

I hired a car off Enterprise Car Hire from Nottingham and went to a friends party in leeds. My own car is petrol but my hire car was diesel. Think that is were i went wrong. I drove the car to a hotel and when i went to start it the car wouldnt start. I realised what i had done. On route to the nightclub we were all joking on about what had happened to the taxi driver and he mentioned a petrol station that had some cards with a phone number on if you had done this. We de-toured so i could get the number. I called Karl at 1am on a Saturday morning after a good skin full and he was going to come out and do it but i needed my bed and was not in the fittest of states, so we agreed for Karl to come out on Saturday morning. Sure to his word Karl was here first thing and had my car starting after 40 mins. This guy is a legend. Karl told me this company was all over the UK, i strongly agree with everyone who has wrote a testimonial on here and would advise everyone to keep this number handy. You never know when you will need it.

After putting 25 litres of petrol in my wife’s diesel and being on my way to work for a 12 hour night shift I was not a happy bunnyI abandoned the car at the petrol station and arranged a lift to work(4 miles away). I then contacted Carl, who came and collected my keys (and took payment) he went and did the job and dropped the keys off at my work when the job was done. Thank you.

When the lad turned up in his van it was a relief as i have had to wait for breakdown services before and they say they will be there in 30 mins and you wait for 3 hours but the young lad was here in the time he said he was going to be. As soon as he pulled up he asked me to jump in his van and i was quite supprised on how clean a work van can be. The lad started draining my car and explained everything that was going on. He then completed the paperwork and payment while the vehicle was draining to save time and get me away quicker. 30 minutes after the lad turned up i was on my way home. Well impressed. I wouldnt care ive filled my car up with wrong fuel 3 times now but hope its the last time i do it. He asked me to visit this site and write a little something if i was pleased with the service. Hi Forecourt Assist, you may not remember me as you did not do the job on my vehicle. I put petrol in my diesel Merc and called the dealership straight away. I got recovered back to the dealers and they quoted me £210 to do the job,well if only that was the case even though you were cheaper for afuel drain i went with them as they told me loads of what i now belive was bullsht. (Pardon my French). Mercedes charged me more after that quote. They could not get the vehicle started and put heater plugs, fuel filter, a fuel cleaner, and a few more items onto my bill and said to me if that fails then a fuel pump may be needed which i could end up paying £2795. My heart sunk. Well they did get my vehicle up and running and luckly i didnt need a fuel pump but they charged me a whooping £790 for all work. I am sorry i did not use your company for a fuel drain but i now realise looking through your testimonials i would have been better off as you have done a few Mercedes. I now have your phone number stored in my phone and hope i dont have to use you but it is there in case and will do next time. My staff also have this on there notice board. What a Doris – been driving a diesel for 13 years now so what possessed me to start filling with unleaded I do not know Fortunately someone else noticed and stopped me after I had put in 17 litres. Merc were all gloom & doom (expensive gloom & doom) & the AA could only do it the following day. Found this website and gave them a call – call.centre passed on my number & was called back immediately quote given was cheaper than the AA and he said he would be with me in 30 mins. Carl arrived after about 20 and defuelled the car in short order. He was very professional knowledgeable and caring – thoroughly recommended, thanks.

After doing the unthinkable and putting petrol in my diesel car, I didnt know what to do. The first thing I did was ring my husband, luckily a couple of weeks ago he picked up a Forecourt Assist flyer in our local garage. He called the number and we were advised not to start the car and that a technician would be with us as soon as possible. Twenty minutes later Carl arrived. He was courteous and professional and most importantly didnt judge me for making this embarassing mistake. He talked us through every step of the procedure he carried out. Thank you very much for getting to me so quick, it made things twice as bad when i left the petrol station and entered the very busy A1 Motorway then my vehicle just stopped. To make things worse not only the highway agency was there but police turned up and closed off the slow lane in rush hour as there was no hard shoulder. Felt like a right plonker and as im talking to the police my phone rings and it was only the wife passing asking what has gone on,(and did i get a ear load off her when i got in) Could things get any worse Forecourt Assist got to me within 15 mins and we got the vehicle off the Motorway. The vehicle was back running within 30 mins. I was followed by the mechanic to the nearest fuel station so i could top up what he had put in. Thank you to all that was involved.

It’s the first time I’ve ever made such a stupid mistake as putting petrol in my diesal engine. It was especially annoying given that I’m a driving instructor. Stating the obvious I put petrol in my diesel car. After panicking I trawled the internet to see what to do. Having read some very harrowing stories of people saying that it would cost me anything up to £5000, I was delighted to stumble across a forum that said I should try Forecourt Assist. How pleased was I after calling them and driving off in my car an hour later after having it expertly dealt with by a very pleasant man called Carl. He drained the tank flushed out the fuel system and replenished it with the correct fuel. All the time he chatted away comforting me that I am not the only person out there who has had a lapse in concentration. A great BIG thank you to everyone in Forecourt Assist. I was going down the road in my vehicle 2 days after christmas and when my vehicle started jumping. I realised what i had done.Had put petrol in my diesel car. I am currently a member of the AA and they could not come out till after the New Year. The AA offered to tow me home and come out in 2011. Thanks so much for getting me back up and running. I pulled off the forecourt and 1 mile down the road my vehicle stopped. I walked back to the forecourt as i left my mobile at home and i am personally writing a email to the forecourts head office as this was a life saver for me to have forecourt assists phone number handy. Carl came out in the snow and picked me up from the forecourt and took me to my vehicle were he sorted my vehicle out straight away. After getting off the phone it took him 20 mins to get to me and 20 mins to get my vehicle started. Excellent service. I was very grateful for your very fast response yesterday, I mistook the filler at the garage for diesel instead of petrol. I called your number and explained that I had put the wrong fuel in my car and the gentleman I spoke to at Forecourt Assist explained what I should do and how long he would be. Forecourt assist are amazing they rescued me when I made the mistake of putting diesel in my petrol car. After ringing three companies including the AA I could not believe how expensive it was. I then phoned Forecourt Assist and they quoted me a fraction of the price they were there just like there advert said within the hour. The technician was helpful and pushed my car off the petrol forecourt because the man at the petrol station would not help me. You don’t think it will happen to you putting petrol in your diesel car, but when it does give these guys a ring professional helpful there when they said they would be. And cheap as chips compared to the other companies. Cheers
